Our pupils kicked off the week with a wonderful assembly led by all members of the Pupil Council from Form Two to Form Six. They had prepared an excellent PowerPoint presentation to inform the rest of the school about the final two charities that the Pupil Voice had shortlisted for a whole-school vote. The choice for the pupil-led charity this term was between the London Wildlife Trust and Mayhew Cats and Dogs. This was followed by a vote, where all pupils from Junior One to Form Six received a voting sheet to choose one or the other for our upcoming Charity Dress-Up Day on Tuesday 5th November.

In addition to our Pupil Council’s presentation, we had a number of certificates to present to the children. Ms Horgan was delighted to award a range of LAMDA certificates to pupils who successfully completed LAMDA exams over the summer.

Finally, our newly appointed House and Vice Captains shared the current tally of House Points, with Sussex House taking the lead from Clifton with 602 points to Sussex’s 663. The house trophy has been decorated with red ribbons for the week. We are all eager to see what colour ribbons the trophy will sport next week!

ISA London West Art Competition

Last Tuesday, Ms Foster submitted some of the children’s artwork to the Independent Schools Association, Regional Art Competition. We are delighted to announce that several of our talented young artists received recognition for their outstanding work.

• Group Work Category:

• Form Two: Second Place for "The Colour Quilt” project

• Individual Categories:

• Luca (Form Two): First Place in the 3D category for "Fish Magic"

• Thyra (Form Two): First Place in the KS1 Sketchbook category

• Klara (Form Three): Second Place in the KS1 Sketchbook category

• Mimi (Form Six): Highly Commended in the KS2 Sketchbook category

We are immensely proud of all our pupils who participated. Their hard work, creativity, and dedication, supported by the guidance of Ms Foster, Head of Art, have truly paid off.

Our first-place winners will progress to the national competition, scheduled for November. We wish them the very best of luck and look forward to seeing their artworks showcased on a larger stage including in a national online art gallery. We will share the link so the whole community can support our young artists after half term.

Parent Committee 2024/2025

Pupil Voice - Chosen Charity for Autumn 2024

Our Pupil Council met this afternoon to count the votes from the assembly earlier this week, and we're excited to announce the winning charity: Mayhew Cats and Dogs! Pupils are invited to dress up as cats or dogs on the upcoming dress-up day, or they may bring a small, soft toy pet - with your child’s name label on - to join in the fun.

Ms Pluskowska Charity Run

We are delighted to announce that Ms Pluskowska has completed her charity run in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school community, she has raised a remarkable £1,170 - over ten times her initial goal! Ms Pluskowska would like to extend her heartfelt gratitude to all the families who donated and supported her efforts. It is truly heartwarming to see our CHS community come together for such a wonderful cause, one that is particularly close to Ms Pluskowska's heart.
Well done to Ms Pluskowska, and thank you to everyone who contributed to this fantastic achievement.

A special shout-out to Maia, Kira, Alexander and Thyra, who joined Ms Pluskowska on the run – bravo!

Attendance policy

Following recent updates to the Department for Education's statutory guidance on Working Together to Improve School Attendance, we have revised our attendance policy to align with these new requirements.
Regular attendance is fundamental to your child's success at school - it directly impacts their academic achievement, social skills, and emotional well-being. We know that students who attend consistently are more likely to reach their full potential.

Please remember that ensuring your child attends school regularly isn't just good practice - it's a legal requirement for all parents and guardians of school-age children.

Our updated School Attendance Policy provides comprehensive information about our approach and procedures. It can be found on the School Policies page.
Maintaining high attendance rates directly contributes to your child's educational success and emotional stability.
