Election of House Captains

Last week the pupils got to meet in their respective house groupings to attend a hustings event where the prospective candidates for the role of House Captain had an opportunity to set out why they would be the best person to choose for this prestigious new role.  We were very impressed with the preparations the Form Six candidates had made.

Later in the week, a polling station was created in the school office and every child got the chance to cast their vote. After a careful count had taken place, the winning candidates were announced in the assembly at the start of the week.

The whole school would like to congratulate;
Izzy as Captain and Saif as Vice Captain of Clifton
And
Ivan as Captain and Kira as Vice Captain of Sussex

The children have already arranged a meeting with Mrs Hampton to put forward their ideas about how to promote the CHS values.

Student Council - Special event: Paddington Bench Unveiling!

Our Student Council recently had the exciting opportunity to represent our school at a special event for the new Paddington Bear movie! Council members were thrilled to participate in the unveiling of a commemorative bench, which serves as Paddington's temporary home in our local area. The bench, located just around the corner from our school, drew much attention and excitement from both pupils and passersby. This unique experience not only allowed our Student Council to engage with a beloved literary character but also gave them a taste of civic involvement and public relations. We're proud of how well they represented our school and grateful for this chance to be part of such a delightful community event. You can read all about it here!

Visit from Miss Wallace - Principal of Queen’s Gate School

We were thrilled to welcome Miss Wallace, the Principal of Queen’s Gate School, to CHS this Thursday. Mrs Hampton had the pleasure of inviting her for a special visit, giving us a wonderful chance to connect with another great school in our area. Lili, our outstanding Form Six Council member, stepped up to the plate and gave Miss Wallace the grand tour. With a spring in her step, Lili showed our guest around the school, introducing her to our fantastic teachers and giving her a firsthand look at what makes our school tick. It was a great opportunity to showcase our vibrant community and the exciting things happening in our classrooms daily.

Virtual Coffee Morning - Lauren Besser My Occupational Therapist

Mrs Hampton would like to thank everyone who joined her for the first virtual coffee morning of the year. We were delighted with the excellent turnout! Ms Lauren Besser delivered a wonderful presentation on Occupational Therapy (OT), providing valuable insights into why it is recommended and what the long-term benefits are. We appreciate all who took time from their busy schedules to attend this informative session. It was a great start to our parent engagement events for the year and we are looking forward to welcoming you all to the next virtual coffee morning on Thursday 7th November, where we will be focussing on what is Speech and Language, with our guest specialist, Sarah Goodman.
