Poetry Afternoon
I’m sure you will all agree that our poetry afternoon was a huge success. What a marvellous job all the children did, overcoming their nerves and reciting their poems with such clarity, poise and entertainment. They all deserve a big pat on the back, they were fantastic today. Bravo!
Thank you
Our thanks go to Mr & Mrs Pearce for a fantastic donation of books for our library in the Learning Hub. We are always welcome recipients of preloved books that we can share amongst our pupils.
Head Teacher Visit - Maida Vale School
Mr Magnus Barshaarat the new Head Teacher of Maida Vale school popped in for a short visit to see the children hard at work. It was lovely showing him around the school.
St Patrick’s Day celebrations this week
The school was full of Irish cheer, the teachers dressed up in green and Irish music was playing throughout the school in celebration for St Patrick’s day today. The children really enjoyed the celebrations with their teachers and we wish all of our Irish families a happy St Paddy’s day.
Wearable Digital Devices
We do appreciate that ‘smart’ watches are all the rage, and I’m sure many of your children have made various requests for them; however, watches which can access the internet or which have games and videos on them are not permitted in school. We request that watches with varying distracting noises and buzzes remain at home for the weekend and the holidays.
Upcoming events
Open Morning
We look forward to welcoming you on Friday 24th in the morning for Open Day when you will have the opportunity to view your child’s work and the children will have the pleasure of giving you a tour of their classroom.
Form Six Junior Debate Tournament - Queen's Gate School
Our Form Six students have been invited to take part in a tournament at Queensgate school on Monday afternoon against a host of other independent London schools. This is a superb opportunity to allow the children to hone their debating skills.
Easter Egg Collection - St John’s Hospice
This year we are collecting chocolate Easter Eggs for the patients at St John’s Hospice. This is part of the charitable work with the local community and Marble Arch Partnership. If you would like to donate an Easter egg please send them in with your child on the 27th, 28th March. Ready for delivery to St John’s Hospice on Wednesday afternoon. This simple gesture of kindness means so much to the recipients and is an ideal opportunity to open our children’s minds to those less fortunate than themselves.
Please note: the eggs must be in an unopened box, and nut free.
