Happy New Year! It has been wonderful, welcoming all of your children back to school after the festive season. Everyone has returned to school with lots of energy for the Spring Term.

New PE Teacher

Following the departure of Mr Shanahan at the end of the Autumn Term, we were delighted to welcome Mr Murray White from SG Sports as our contracted PE teacher. The children warmly welcomed him, showcasing their best behaviour and demonstrating their impressive PE skills. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and effort as they make Mr Murray White feel a part of our school community.

Spare Clothes

Every child should have a spare set of uniform packed in their green drawstring bag, including named socks and spare undergarments for the younger years.

Due to limited space, we are unable to store paper or plastic bags with clothes on the children’s pegs. If a child does not have a green or navy drawstring bag, the school will purchase one and add the cost to the termly invoice at the end of the term.

Touch Typing Club

We are excited to offer a Touch Typing Club every Wednesday after school this term, allowing pupils to develop valuable skills that will enhance both their writing and learning.

Touch typing enables ideas to flow easily onto the screen, allowing for quick drafting and efficient editing. It also reinforces phonics, strengthens spelling through muscle memory, and boosts sight-reading skills. Touch typing becomes a powerful tool for academic success by reducing distractions and enabling quick error correction.

This club is also excellent preparation for secondary school, where pupils will need to manage a heavier workload and complete more written assignments. The ability to type swiftly and accurately can make this transition smoother and support them in confidently managing this workload.

Here is what some of our club members have to say:

  • “Touch typing is very good and schnazzy” - Bruno, F3

  • "It was so much fun! I really enjoyed the videos" - Saif, F6

  • “I would definitely recommend it for younger children” - Darcy, F6

Spaces are filling up fast, so if you would like your child to join Miss Wilkins and Mr James at the Touch Typing Club, please contact Miss Cho.

Open Day

This term, we are delighted to host our annual Open Morning on Friday 21st March. It is a wonderful opportunity for pupils to showcase the outstanding work they have been engaged in throughout the year. Parents and family members are invited to visit the school and are expected to accompany the children during this special event, which allows them to spend quality time together in the school environment. In addition to viewing the pupils’ achievements, parents will have the opportunity to meet with their child’s class teacher as well as teachers from other classes and specialist subjects.

Please note that there will be no school for children in the afternoon, as the school will be hosting an Open Afternoon for prospective parents.

Virtual Coffee Morning with Mrs Hampton - Parent consultation on Reports on 23rd January 2024

Mrs Hampton invites parents to a virtual coffee morning consultation to discuss school reports. This informal meeting is an opportunity for parents to share their thoughts on the type of information included in reports—what is working well and what could be improved. We value your input and look forward to hearing your ideas to ensure reports are as helpful and informative as possible.
