What a cold and chilly week it has been! Please remember to ensure children are arriving at school with hats, scarves and both gloves clearly labelled with their names.

Daunt Book Fair

On Wednesday, we hosted our much-anticipated annual book fair in the Dining Room, in partnership with Daunt Books. The children were excited as they explored an array of literary treasures, eagerly searching for their next great read. Natalie from Daunt Books was on hand to guide the children in selecting books suited to their interests and reading levels. There was something for everyone—from our youngest pupils to our enthusiastic teachers! Thanks to the success of the fair, the school has earned valuable in-store credit, which will be used to expand our ever-growing library and nurture our pupils’ love of reading.

Alumni Visit

Former Form Six pupil, Meera came to visit us on Thursday! She was met with huge smiles and plenty of hugs from all the children. Meera came to see the displays and work in classrooms on the PSHE Jigsaw Leadership Unit, which she helped to create with her mum; and she was very impressed. She then spoke to the Form Six children about her experience of transitioning from CHS to Secondary school and offered them such great advice! She also helped out with the younger children in their lessons. What a role model for CHS!

Upcoming

Festive Postbox

From Monday, 2nd December to Monday 9th December, the Festive Postbox will be ready for children to drop off their holiday cards. Once the postbox is brimming with cheer, Santa’s Little Helpers from the Senior classes will step in to deliver the cards throughout the school.

Collection for The Marylebone Project  - Thursday 5th & Friday 6th Dec only

A reverse Advent Calendar has been arranged to support the local Women's Shelter, spreading kindness to those in need. You can drop off contributions on Thursday 5th or Friday 6th December.  The Parents’ Fundraising Committee have very kindly agreed to take the donations to The Marylebone Project. Please see a list of items here: Marylebone Project

Community Partnership in partnership with Marble Arch BID

Throughout the school, pupils have been busily designing and making festive cards for the older people of Penfold Community Hub. On Friday, 6th December, Forms Four and Five will deliver these to the guests and will perform a medley of Christmas tunes.
This special event is a wonderful opportunity for the children to think of others and to exemplify our behaviour code to ‘Be Community Minded’
The pupils will need to come to school in their full CHS uniform rather than their games kit.

Form Two and Three - Open Swim - Friday 6th December

Parents of children in Forms Two and Three are invited to attend an Open Swim session at the Kensington Leisure Centre. This is a wonderful opportunity to observe the children’s progress in swimming. The session will be open for parents to view from 12:40 pm to 1:15 pm.

 Things to note

Please remember that this upcoming week is the last for clubs this term. Clubs will not be running during the final week of term, beginning Monday, 9th December.

Junior Play and Senior Choir Carol concert - Wednesday 11th December, 2pm

On Wednesday 11 December, we look forward to welcoming you to our Junior Play and Senior Choir Carol concert, which will begin promptly at 2 pm. We kindly request that parents arrive no earlier than 1:50 pm so that the children can be settled before their guests arrive.

CHS Parents' Fundraising Committee

As we approach the festive season, the CHS Parent Fundraising Committee have organised a Bake Sale to coincide with the KS1 Christmas Play and Senior Choir performances at St John’s church. This will be at the back of the church after the performance. These events are a lovely opportunity to contribute to meaningful causes and celebrate together.
