King & Queen - Coronation Celebration
What a wonderful week of Coronation inspired learning! From the bunting festooned outside and the regal decorations within, CHS has taken on a decidedly majestic air this week. The children have enjoyed a plethora of activities, learning about King Charles III, his life and journey to the Throne and the place of the monarch in the way Britain is governed. Junior One looked resplendent in the crowns they created and we spotted more than a few little hands perfecting the royal wave! Ms Burke led a Coronation themed assembly and our kitchen team prepared some tasty treats for the children to enjoy and celebrate this historic occasion together. We are sure that all our pupils will have a memorable experience this weekend either in person lining the Mall perhaps or by watching our monarch on the TV. A reminder to let us have any pictures of your street parties or celebrations for publication next week across our media platforms. No doubt there will be lots of tea and biscuits eaten and fun to be had by all.
Second Hand Uniform
Thank you to all the families that have sent in second hand uniforms to school. We now have items in all sizes with the exception of large sized blazers. If you happen to have that and your child has outgrown it please send them in so we can replenish our stock.
Book Donation
Our thanks goes to Mr & Mrs Moar for their delightful book donation. An additional full set of Lemony Snicket’s, “A Series of Unfortunate Events” will be enjoyed by all the children. We are always welcome recipients of pre-loved books that we can share amongst our pupils.
Quiz Club Championships - Semi Finals
Our General Knowledge team picked from Forms Three to Six, qualified to participate in the semi-finals of the Quiz Club Championships on Thursday. Riddhi captained the side which included: Ella, Mimi and James. The team performed heroically, attaining 25.5 correct questions out of 30. The topics ranged from architecture to Shakespeare - as well as the music of Miley Cyrus. They ended up joint 17th place out of 57 teams from schools around the country. We await to see whether they will make it through to the Grand Final which will be later this term in Oxford.
