Music Assembly

On Monday the whole school was treated to a variety of musical performances by their fellow pupils. Aurelia, Emma, Alexander, and Sami entertained us at the piano with repertoire ranging from Tchaikovsky to Schubert. Michael gave a colourful performance of the theme from “Pirates of the Caribbean” on the cello, whilst Meera serenaded us on the violin. Saif sang “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman, and Izzy took to the ocean performing “Part of your World” from the Disney classic, A Little Mermaid. It was wonderful to showcase the fantastic musical achievements of CHS, inspiring the younger members of the school with what can happen with a little dedication and practice. All in all a wonderful way to start the week!

Second-Hand Book Sale

In addition to raising a total of £402.98 for the CHS Bursary Fund and £32 for the children’s chosen charity, UNICEF. The CHS Parent Committee have also kindly donated 164 books on the school's behalf to The Children’s Book Project.
Thank you once again for all of your donations and to the CHS Parents Committee for organising such a positive event.

Upcoming

Form Two Open Dance - Wednesday 20 March

Form Two will don their dancing shoes on Wednesday 20 March for their Open Dance. Parents and guardians are welcome to view the progress the children have made during their dance lessons with Miss Shannon. Further details to follow.

Open Day - Friday 22 March AM Only

By now you would have received your invitations for our annual CHS Open Morning on Friday. For parents who are new to the CHS community, it is a special annual event where the children will have the opportunity to share their lives and work at school with their families. Please do allow for at least one hour to look through all the work and time for your child to introduce you to their next form teacher. As always Dr Ashworth will be on hand on the lower ground floor to accompany ad hoc musical recitals and Ms Donatat will have baked up a storm of deliciously tempting treats. Once again, we remind you that on Open Morning your children will remain your responsibility whilst you are at school and should leave with you at the end of your visit. There is no school in the afternoon. Children should be in their smart uniform that day.

Open Afternoon for Prospective Parents

Whilst the school is closed to current pupils on the afternoon of Friday 22nd March, we will be hosting our open house for prospective parents. Please feel free to share our Instagram post highlighting Open Afternoon and follow CHS on Instagram of course! Thank you.

Form 5 & 6 Science Trip

On Monday 25 March, Forms Five and Six will be heading to the other side of Hyde Park to the Science Museum for a morning of science-filled learning. We look forward to hearing more from the children on their return.

Easter Egg Collection for St John’s Hospice

This year we are collecting chocolate Easter Eggs for the patients at St John’s Hospice. This is part of the charitable work with the local community and Marble Arch Partnership. If you would like to donate an Easter egg please send it in with your child on the 25th March. Ready for delivery to St John’s Hospice on Tuesday 26th March with the school council. This simple gesture of kindness means so much to the recipients and is an ideal opportunity to open our children’s minds to those less fortunate than themselves.

Please note: the eggs must be in an unopened box, and nut free.
