Good afternoon CHS Parents

We hope this email finds you all well.

The children have come back full of energy and joie de vivre!

Having started the scheme in September, we are excited to share that Connaught House School has been awarded Unicef UK’s Rights Respecting Schools ‘Bronze’ Award. Our thanks go to Miss Duffy and Miss Stock, who have been leading our thoughtful assemblies on a Tuesday morning that support Unicef’s aim for children’s rights.  This subject is at the heart of our school’s ethos that focuses on improving our pupil’s well-being and identifying and developing every child’s talents and abilities to their full potential. With the first stage complete, CHS will continue to work towards achieving the Silver Award, a high priority in our school development plan.

Congratulations to our pupils in Form Six who, during the holidays, competed in the final Sumdog Maths challenge of 2021, and, once again, finished on top of the leader board.  Form Six remain the unbeaten champions with Ibrahim achieving the top score for his class.

Form Two and Form Three had their first swimming session today and they all performed really well and enjoyed being back in the pool.

HOUSEKEEPING

We still have a number of children who have returned to school with incomplete 3-in-one jackets, either missing the internal fleece, or without the hood.   It is very cold outside so please ensure your child is well equipped for the colder weather.

COFFEE MORNING

Mrs Hampton will be hosting her virtual coffee morning on 10 February at 10am.  We are delighted that our guest speaker for this session is Specialist Behavioural Therapist, Laila Lachgar, Msc BCBA,  from the Early Intervention Clinic.  Laila has a wealth of helpful knowledge and tips for supporting parents to overcome tantrums, bedtime tears and any other behavioural issues that you may bring to the table.

Unfortunately, Ms Robertson is isolating and will not be able to come in to school next week for her recorder lessons.  These will resume on 17 January.

The school’s updated menu will be on the website from Monday, along with the updated risk assessment.

Have a lovely weekend,

Best wishes,
