Going back to school after the Christmas break presents its challenges, but your children have settled well into the routine and our good work assembly was buzzing with presentations yesterday: The ukulele group serenaded us with Auld Lang Syne, Form 4 amazed us with their spinning thaumatropes, Form Two quizzed the school on the attributes of living things and Junior Ones showed off their woven police cars, amongst other treats.   Children who have sat various entry examinations for other schools have come back smiling and many are off for interviews in the coming weeks. We wish them well.

Form One have welcomed a delightful new learning assistant to their class, Miss Moreno, who will be supporting Mrs Roger whilst Mrs Antolini recuperates.  With a primary teaching qualification from Spain, she is very enthusiastic and is a welcome addition to our team. Watch out for weekly Spanish lunchtimes!

Visitors and trips are in the planning for this term, and Junior One have already had their first visitor – a diabetes nurse based at St Mary’s Hospital.  He came in his uniform and answered questions related to his work in the hospital. More speakers have been booked in , linking with their study of ‘People who help us’.  Junior One is also heading off to bake their own pizzas next week.   Form Three will also be out next week, off for a full day’s visit to the Sir John Soane’s Museum in the City to take part in cross curricular workshops linked to their learning in Geography, Science, Maths and Art.  Please keep up to date with the calendar on the website, and note that next year’s term dates have now been published.

Enjoy the weekend,
