Mrs Bell in Form Three is expecting twins!
We were delighted to learn that Mrs Bell is expecting and most impressed when she discovered that she is in fact expecting twins. As the babies are due in the spring, Mrs Bell will begin her maternity leave early next term. Fortunately, we had already met Lauren Mayer, a teacher we were very impressed with earlier this year, and are very pleased that she will be available to join us in January.

New Form Three Teacher joining us in January
Miss Lauren Mayer BA (Hons), PGC, attended Milfield School and for the last five years has been a Year Three and a Year Four class teacher at a Beacon School in Surbiton, with particularly impressive literacy achievements. She is currently their Eco Schools Coordinator and was instrumental in them gaining their Eco Gold Award. Miss Mayer is also the PE coordinator, a particular keen horsewoman and a qualified riding instructor.

Mrs Jones and Ms White join the School Office
It is a great relief to have our tiny school office full of good-humoured, administering people again. Thank you to parents for being so understanding as we have made this transition. Mrs Jones is our new IT Manager and she will be in the office on Mondays and Tuesdays. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Ms White, our new school secretary, will be in the office and responsible for general administration.

Parents workshop – Preparing boys for exams
We are delighted that Dr Jeremy Monsen, who is the Principal Educational Psychologist of the East London Consortium of Educational Psychologists will be giving a talk and offering advice on raising boys and supporting their preparation for 7 and 8+ exams. This is by invitation only and is extended to parents of boys attending CHS.
