Dear CHS Parents

What a busy week it’s been here at Connaught House!

Roman Day

We started the week with the arrival of the Form Three centurions.  The whole of Form Three made so much effort, arriving at school in full Roman dress and then spent the day discovering more about Roman life in conjunction with their current history project.

Daunt Books

Daunt Books provided a brilliant book fair on Monday for all the children and parents to peruse and buy some lovely early Christmas presents and bedtime reads.

Mrs Hampton’s Coffee Morning

Mrs Hampton was delighted to see so many parents participate in her final virtual coffee morning of the year.  Mrs Antonlini-Lemos had prepared a super presentation followed by a number of thoughtful questions on multilingualism.

Christmas Carols last night

Our Senior Choir entertained the local crowd with an open air musical performance at the Connaught Village Christmas Fair.   It was a magical event, and lots of our past pupils came along to take part in the experience. Despite the cold, spirits were high and a big thank you to Mrs London who provided the children with donuts afterwards which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Dr Lorraine Walker

Dr Walker returned to meet the Form Six children again for a further session on mental health and wellbeing.  Once again, she commented on their thoughtful comments and she was struck by the support they offered each other.

House Competition Swimming

During the senior’s swimming lesson today, they were involved in a series of races organised by Kensington Leisure Centre.  In a thrilling backstroke competition, the leads changed hands several times, but Sussex finally triumphed by 8 wins to 6.  There were great swims from Estella, Aurelia, Ella and Alexander.

There will be more races to anticipate in the final week of swimming next Friday where the parents have also been invited to the Open Swim.

We have Open Dance next week on Tuesday at Sylvia Young.  Form Three have prepared a routine and are looking forward to sharing their final dance lesson with their parents.

Nasal Flu Spray

The children will be having their nasal flu vaccination on Monday 29 November.  Thank you for being so proactive in returning the forms.
